SUBJECT:    North Domingo Baca Park - STATUS UPDATE 10-18-06

Below is an outline update on the progress at North Domingo Baca Park. Please direct any questions you may have to Colleen @ 768-3826. Everyone receiving this email is listed below, however, the distribution is being broken into 4 separate emails. 


MULTI-GENERATIONAL CENTER - Phase 6 PROGRAMMING
Stage 3: ON HOLD PENDING PRIVATE DEVELOPER INTEREST / PARTICIPATION Building Program includes room functions, operations, relationships, adjacencies, connections and site requirements, relationships to other site elements, funding and phasing assumptions. A private developer has expressed an interest in this project and may be participating with the City in a public / private partnership. This relationship should be defined by the end of the year, 2006 or early 2007. We will report back on this opportunity thereafter. 

Stages 1 and 2: COMPLETE 6/06 Activity Program Development will include a survey questionnaire. Site/Community Data Gathering includes review of existing site information and documents, research of demographics and existing area services, and a post occupancy evaluation of Manzano Mesa. Mahlman Studio Architects were approved as the consultants for the design of the North Domingo Baca Multi-Generational Center. To date, they have been funded and approved to provide PROGRAMMING ONLY for this facility. 


MODULAR SKATE AND AREAS OF PLAY - Phase 5 IN DESIGN 
A conceptual graphic has been prepared for the north side of the park which includes the Modular Skate Park, Off Leash Dog Exercise Area, Children's Play Area and off street Parking Lot. This graphic is ready for input from the Technical Team and Public Advisory Committee. We would like to schedule a meeting prior to Thanksgiving 2006. 

BOX CULVERT - Phase 4 COMPLETE: 5/06
The concrete box culvert project began in January 2006 and was completed 5/06. The recent activity at North Domingo Baca Park is from the contractor who did work on the box culvert. Due to the number of intense rains received in recent months, there was some erosion that occurred and needed to be fixed. Additionally, it was determined from final survey calculations that additional dirt is still owed. The contractor is bringing more in.

 MASTER DEVELOPMENT PLAN - Phase 3 APPROVED: 4/06
The sketch plat and vacation request for the park site, the Master Development Plan document and preliminary/final plat were approved by the DRB 4/06. 

 UTILITY EXTENSION AND STREET SECTION CONSTRUCTION - Phase 2 COMPLETE 2004

 INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS - Phase 1 COMPLETE 2004

PARK LAND ACQUISITION - COMPLETE 1997 - 2005
