Councilor Winter is on this email list and we have been reading all the
emails. We have requested that the Department of Municipal Development
provide us with more information, but after one week, we still have not
received anything from them. I will let you know as quickly as we do.
Thank you for your patience.

Don, that would be on the south side of arroyo at Barstow, so there is
no need to build bridge.

Let's keep in mind that the city will not push to build a bridge because
we all oppose it.

I would like to know if our city councilor Brad Winter is on this email
list.....I think he should be reading these emails so that he gets the
fact that an overwhelming majority of us oppose building this bridge.

Can anyone assure me that Brad is reading our emails?

	All,
I just came upon an article in Business Weekly about a
church-office park development going in between Barstow and Ventura and
Alameda and Oakland. Would seem to me that would push the city into
opening Barstow with the bridge everyone has been talking about. Maybe
this is old news to you all but it was news to me!

Thanks to Roger for reminding me about these existing
and growing problems associated with Barstow south of Alameda.

To all concerned - no one seems to be
considering the existing school traffic situation on Barstow. There is
already considerable school rush hour traffic from La Cueva. Desert
Ridge is an even greater concern. There are many parents parking on
Barstow and in the surrounding neighborhoods in the morning and
afternoon - with many kids crossing Barstow going to and from their
cars. In addition, there are many kids who cross Barstow when they walk
to school from nearby homes.

Obviously, adding the bridge will increase the
through traffic on an already busy Barstow - and increase the risk to
our kids. When planning our neighborhood, we should keep the safety as
a primary concern.
