BRIEF MINUTES OF THE May 21st D4
                               COALITION OF NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS MEETING

APD SGT. Erick Jordan briefed the coalition on police matters in the NE area. He noted that additional police have been assigned to address the speed racing by kids occurring on Paseo. (shifted from Montgomery). In addition, Party Patrol will expand as school will shortly be out and more parties will occur. He pointed out that burglaries are up slightly and tend to occur during the hours of 9-5 AM when people are at work or on their way home. He asked that those at home noting any suspicious please contact the police via 311. Meth. labs are everywhere, including the NE.

Heather Townsend, Mayor's Liaison with Neighborhood Associations, attended the meeting and reported that the "no knock" ordinance concerning door-to door solicitation has not been approved yet by the City Council but that placards are available. Call 311 for info. Heather's Ph. # is 768-3055.

Diana Trujeque reported that the Council budget review replaced money for the library, planning staff, and animal handlers. The Quintessance rep stated that response from zoning enforcement had been excellent, but has deteriorated recently.

The office of Neighborhood Coordination has lost staff recently and is now down to 3 people, forcing curtailment of some activity and steps to eliminate some others. Not good.

During the Neighborhood Roundtable discussion, Joe Yardumian discussed the "temp cell tower" status at the Wyoming/Paseo corner, the ongoing construction at Wyoming and Eagle Rock, and asked members to contact him if they have any information concerning the activity at former Coronado Airport. Bear Canyon NA reported a house break-in, car theft, and a DWI car crash. Academy Hills NA reported several lights at Mountain Run Shopping Center were not working and had been reported.

Adjourned at 9 PM.

Respectfully submitted
Joe YArdumian, NorEste Rep to D4
