Brief Minutes of the 5/20/09 D4 Meeting of</DIV>

the Coalition of Neighborhood Associations </DIV>

<DIV>Meeting called to order at 7 PM. The President commented on the
Multi-page Newsletter produced monthly by Alb. Meadows, funded by business
adverts. Alb Meadows offer to provide copies at each Coalition meeting was
unanimously accepted by the Coalition. President Amy also noted the 2
facilitated meetings have been scheduled for NAs wishing information on projects
proposed for the old Phillips building near I-25 N of Alameda, and a restaurant
at Plaza La Cueva. She also announced that Rep. Heimrick has scheduled a
Town Hall Q & A session on 5/27 at the Veterans Town Hall for those wishing
to attend.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Members expressed concern about the lack of a fence or some barrier to
prevent children from running out into the street from the Play Area at Domingo
Baca Park. Park Project Manager will be contacted to discus these
concerns.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Councilman Brad Winter reported on Council actions, noting that the
proposed budget was approved with some minor changes. It includes $ 4
million for Domingo Baca Park. He is requesting that City Councilors and
State Legislators be invited to the Park ribbon cutting ceremony in
recognition of the funding they provided and their support for the
Park. Brad will look into corrective action for Del Rio Road which needs
grading work. He noted that Diana T. is back at work and slowly recovering
from her recent surgery, but understandably tires by late in the day. D4 will
send a card for her speedy recovery.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Bambi F. noted that Delaina at ONC has had some heath problems recently but
continues to provide her exemplary support to NAs. D4 voted to send a Get
Well card and our thanks.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>A brochure with more information an the Momma Bears Teddy Bear program will
be provided at the next D4 meeting. Under the program, when a Teddy
Bear is purchased, another one is provided free to children at area
hospitals.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Joe Yardumian was recused from the scheduled discussion of the I-25
Sector Plan.</DIV>
